Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the potential factors associated with the induction of fruit skin contamination during fruit development in oriental pear. Skin contaminations were found on fruit stem end during the late stage of fruit growth. The colors of affected fruits were dark brown and black. No skin contamination occurred and were induced in plastic-coated pin, but black contamination in tinned iron pin and dark brown contaminations in galvanized iron pin. The more hygropicuous bags and the more rainfall during late stage of fruit development, the more skin contaminated fruits occurred.
